Scrammy air box mods
#1
I ran a search and came up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone has modified there air box on there scrambler. I have a 2004 500 H.O. If you have, does it make a difference? I already have a K&N, on it. Also will cutting the airbox require rejetting? I'm not sure which jet I am running but it has been upgraded with the H.S.P. kit I got for it. Thanks in advance. Paul
BTW I ride in muddy conditions most of the time.

more air = more power.
if you want to get the airbox mod, but dont know if it will help out, do some runs with the airbox lid off and see if you gain anything. if you do, you could use the air mox mod.
i bin lookin at the HPD one.

The CV carbs on the 4strokes need a certan amount of vacum to work right. That is why HPD sells the airbox mod as a kit with all the jets and goodies to make it work.

Rick Ritter and I had a nice discussion about this awhile back. ftwflh is right about the CV carb and needing the vaccum. That is what Rick was tellign me too. If you are wanting to mod the airbox, then just do yourself a favor and get HPD's kit. They did the testing already and have it setup to work right. It is more than just rejetting. What you will notice is better throttle response and it will pull a little harder. I am very pleased with it.
