Ya, you know how large tires are in ruts, well it was doing it in the snow. I know the tires are going to pull anyways because of the terrain under the snow and the deeper snow has a tendancy to throw you around, it just seems like there was less control on the throttle with the Mudlites in the deeper snow.
They did great in the snow overall....I was getting alittle crazy coming off the mountain and the snow was only a few inches deep and I was sliding the machine around the corners in 2wd.....they steered very well. We're talking 50+ mph slides around the corners....almost didn't make a few of them. Guess I shouldn't do that when riding by myself. I'll get up there again hopefully next weekend with the 589s to give a better comparison between the tires, Mudlites and 589s.
Maybe its just me and haven't ridden in snow in awhile. I felt like the Mudlites should have pulled out of the deep snow better than getting thrown around. It could have also been because I was in 4wd when I got in the deeper stuff....dunno. Will test again next weekend and report....
Anybody close by that wants to go play in the snow, give me a PM....

Nice pics!! Do you always go by our self? Looks alittle out of the way if you sliped off the mountain.

Hey Chris...
Unfortunately, its hard to find people to ride with around here, at least the type of riding I want to do. I guess you got to like the adventure instead of just using the ATV as a tool. I like the adventure, exploring new places, trying new things. When I want to do some serious climbing, I make sure someone is with me, because we have to get off one machine in order to hold the other one down while trying to get up some of the hills.....ok, they're mountains....
I've got a bunch of rides planned for spring already, some new area's to find out if there are elk hanging out. If I take the dog along, i have the company i need....lol....and he loves riding on the ATV....hard to get him off of it after riding, he'll even sleep on it....I swear I could leave him on the ATV on the trailer and drive home and he would stay there.....here is a pic of him, not the best pic, poor lighting/shadows:

Here is a pic from the summer. The high point right in the middle of the screen is where I shot the last photo of the snow. Don't look at the highest point in the photo, but the high point dead center in the photo, well dead-center top of terrain.....I couldn't drive to the point I'm taking this photo from because I couldn't see for crap...anyways, where I said you can fall off and roll 1000 feet, look at this photo from where I'm taking the pic, down to the right....gets worse further up....much worse:

amazingly the windshield helps out a bunch....the stock polaris windshields are pretty flimsy....but even at 60 mph it was working great.....actually probably closer to 70, since it said 60 on the speedo and I'm running 27" tires vs the 26" stock tires....

Dave that looks like a nice place to ride! Where are you riding??
Now I just can't wait for the winter!! The I&M Canal runs only a couple of miles from my house, last winter i went 10 miles in each direction, but need someone to ride with to get longer rides. I need to find a cheap digital camera!! I wife will kill me if i take our Canon out (it's a nice 5MP, but we paid $600 for it.
