Default Need a real help on this one ...

Im thinking of getting the new 05 polaris predator (with reverse, but not the TLE)!

well i own now a 01 ds650 and ill probably sell it for the pred...

the question is how does the predator 500 (no TLE) handles vs the ds in a drag racin... i know the top speed of the ds would be higher in 5 mph but when hit the throttle in third or 4th which one while go faster??

anyway i heard the pred got a frame issues and the frame can actally get broken by hard mx and terran? did polaris fixed that one on the 05 models?

anyone can give me some good information like whats its common problems? and whats its advantages.... and whatever you fell like that will help me before buying a new pred??

and btw how many gallons of gas u need to ride ez with the machine while breaking the motor... and how is the pred doing with tricks like wheelies stoppie and catwalk and stuf...

Well, I can't help ya much comparing it to a DS, and I don't really understand what you mean by the "third and fourth" deal, but......

The frames are supposed to be much stronger on the 04's than the 03's, but I still don't think that the Rath Gussett kit is a bad idea for under $100. Although, the only ones I've heard of with problems are the ones that race MX or are on the "heavier" side and don't know how to adjust their suspension.

The trannys are supposedly smooth now, and have lost the notchy shifting the 03's and 04's suffered from. The seat has been flattened out more and the steering stem is now 1" higher as well. The 05's haven't been out long enough to really hear of any problems.

As for tricks, cat walks no problems, wheelies are more effort than say a Z400, but not bad, and I can do stoppies no problem on dirt....

I have a 05 Pred. The shifting is so sweet, but so is everthing else. We was talking to a guy at the drag races Saturday, he had a DS with the X package.....what ever that is....he said he was going to get a Pred. Go out and ride one and see for your self.....I much rather have a Pred then any other quad out there, thats way I bought one.

You guys talking about 05 smooth shifting.... does it include the non TLD model? cause i head the TLD got a close ratio tranny...! i want TLD but only the standart pred 500 is in israel (where i come from) so i guess ill have to stick with no close ratio tranny and that better shocks....

when i say any common problems with 05 pred i mean the 03 and 04 as well cause actally its the same bike...

more information would be great!!!

The Std. Pred and the TLD both have the ratchet-style shifting. I have a buddy with a 03 and a 04 Pred, and they have had no problems at this time. You can see them in my pictures.

an hour ??? WoW!
My dealer told me to ride easy for 2 full gas tanks which took me alot of time... and so does my friends preds ( atleast 2 full gas tanks)... an hour sound very wierd ....

anyway i took a test drive on the std 04 pred today with the PP slip on... and it felt like my stock ds is wayyy faster then this machine, especially on top speed.... but it felt more aggresive to ride the pred then the big ds and very ez to wheelie in 3th gear with no help from the clutch!... i like the pred alot and cant wait for the 05!! more inforamtion is welcome!
