Changing jets in the 39mm carb.

once it has been in awhile they they do go in i filed a taper on the end of the carb to help start it to go inand sometimes wipe oil on the end to help. it is a pain but that is the price for speed i geuss dont know why no one has made a boot by now

I just pulled the clutches off, i can get to it now, just need to get the settings, was hoping some more people would recommend some things.
like the air screw, i set it to 1.5 screws out, is that right?

Yes 1.5 is a good starting point on the air screw, mine would almost always need to be adjusted when the weather would change.Just don't go past 3 turns out,i lost one that way.You need to start the carb into the boot at an angle then turn it as you go in the rest of the way.You will get the hang of it as you go along.

troyer I know your on a 250r frame and I am not one hundred percent positive what my engine bay looks like at this moment, but on the stock scrambler couldn;t you remove the skid plate and tilt the quad up on the grab bar and get at the bowl that way? I may be way off but its a suggestion and I hope it helps if it is possible.

I can't get to mine that way, the carb sits right above the tranny, well, in front and above. I can just pull it out, no biggie. I am just looking for adjustments now.
I am starting with a 175 main and the screw 1.5 out.

I only run in the sand, I run a 168 and it is a tad bit rich but I feel safer with it there. I just have a K&N right on the carb so it only takes 30 seconds to get the carb off and the jet out
