Glacier Plow
#11
Question....can you use the Glacier setup and use a Moose blade or someone elses blade? The Glacier is so easy to hook up, but I have to say the blades that Polaris sells don't look as good as the Moose and others...?????
thanks,

RoscoePW--"Hey Pockets... is the moose plow as high or higher than the cycle country blades? "
i don't know RoscoePW.
elkbow, you hit the nail on the head bro! Glacier set-up is top-notch, Moose blade as well. i wonder how the two combined could be researched short of buying both and trying it.
great idea!

My two bits:
My Moose 60" blade is 16" high, tougher than the rest, easy to use, and connects in 30 seconds. I've abused it for two years and it's good as new.
I plow my driveway and a few neighbours' as well. I did a big rink down at the lake last year and that was the first time I could have used a bit more traction. The Polaris' weight, belt drive, and easy reverse are big advantages for plowing. Maybe if your area gets big dumps of heavy wet snow then chains would be the answer, otherwise just throw some weight on the racks.
And plowing is fun. Just ask Homer "The Plow King" Simpson.

Yeah i was thinking some sand bags may do some good. 1bullmoose - could you get the rink plowed okay, or did you spin too much to make it worthwhile? Its cold up here, so most of the snow is just lots of light dry stuff

Tyler711,
Definately worthwhile to put a plow on your Sportman, it will plow snow like crazy. I didn't spin much unless I was trying to show off and move mountains of snow in one pass. If your snow is usually the fluffy variety, traction will not be a problem.

I was just going to ask the same thing, I asked it earlier, but nobody answered. Polaris does sell two different plow blades, one is for commercial work, 1/4" thick steel....but don't think it is any taller...
so, can you connect a Moose blade to the Glacier system, anyone done this?

Dropped off the 400 today at the dealer. THe grand total is 60 inch glacier blade, heated handgrips, front and rear skidplates (been meaning to get those), rear tire chains, and the rubber deflector for the top of the blade.
They had a 700 set up with a plow and a cab, it looked real comfortable. But i think that ^^^ is enough for one christmas.
THey also had an 800 out in the lot, that looks sweet. i love those beadlock rims.
Ill let you guys know how everything works once we get enough snow to plow and the lake freezes
