I did the diode deal on my 02 sportsman 500.
One night my low beams started flashing on & off. Then the light went completely out. Come to find out the diode went bad & eventually smoked my headlight switch.

Soultion- new headlight switch $ 100.00, I added a separate toggle switch for the high beam.

It would have been alot easier if Polaris would have made these llight all 3 come on at the same time.
(that is the only complaint I have on my sportsman)

 

I really don't think the headlight switch has a high enough contact rating to run at three lights. I put the diodes version on mine but I think I am going to use the relay version to save the $100 switch.

Anyone else burn out a switch running 3 lights??
