Yes DW articles written are 4-6 months before they are published.

The problem is they will not reshoot out the quads. They will now continue to base all of their ***umptions on this poor excuse for a shoot out. All future articles will read "in our January shootout" and it will be due to bad research. I believe the results of the quads they tested, but the results are due to them compromising the validity of the test. What is also known as junk science.

Another point that DW's did not mention when comparing power of the "Big Bores" is that the polaris is running 26x8-12 & 26x11-12 tires while the KQ and BF are on 25x8-12 tires. However, this would give the Polaris an advantage with top speed.

I also think the weight on the 800 is a good thing, after all it is a UTILITY 4X4!

Just my nickle... you know inflation an all.

Not too much power for this ol boy. Check out my vid on my signature. I think its just about right. Someone asked about the frames from the 800 to the 400? I believe all the sportsmans of the same year should be the same.

Nice....you'll get the hang of them wheelies after awhile...lol....I was doing them at the dealer on the pavement while he wasn't looking....move your butt back alittle further and get in the right rpm's....what altitude are you at? i was riding at the dealer at about 5200 feet elevation and could pull up the front end alittle easier than that, but i was on pavement also, you're getting some wheel spin watching your video....

nice machine though

Dat would be cheaten!! Yep, I used to have the wheelies down pat with the 700. I basically wanted to show how the 800 would do a wheelie on normal conditions where I was sitting in a normal spot. I need to learn the machine before I do an induced wheel stand, hehe. I'll include those vids. hehe..

When the 700 came out in '02 they (and the 600 in 03) had a slightly diff. frame and other components than the rest of the Sportsman lineup but with the all new 05's I think they are all the same.

Nice review Dave! Are you talking about the new Vision wheel with the symulated beadlock? I'm buying a set of 12 inchers for my 700.

Jim,,,,ya I was talking about their new wheels. They look really nice, but the sides of the wheels and because they beadlock, they are really close to parallel with the edge of the tire. Meaning that if you are climbing through rocks, etc. and are tilted alot, the edges will come close to the rocks. They look pretty tough though. With the beadlock they may take a pounding. As with any combination, just need to be careful so you don't have to walk home...lol....

jwyles....i noticed on your video that you weren't trying that hard to pull the front end up. It also will work better with some breakin on the machine....lol. Finding the right combination of rpm's and position are key. Its like riding a motorcycle, once you get the front end up high enough, its learning how to keep it there without coming back down or going over backwards. Although this is a utility machine, so wheelies aren't its main focus....ha.
