does the jug get ported or is it the head or is it both???

 

the cylinder gets ported,and the head gets shaved down..

 

i thought the heap gets ported and polished and the cylinder gets honed...unless you bore it then you either sleeve or plate it then oyu hone it!

 

does the head have to be shaved??

 

maybe im wrong but that was my understandment of it,i dont think you have to do any head work but thats where the higher compression comes from so its well worth it,i think anyway..

 

You would port the head. The head can get milled down to raise compression, doesnt have to be. Boring the cylinder should be done if it has any damage in there, you bore it out to the next piston size up. Doesn't have to be re-sleeved.
