Default Bad luck with Badland tires?

I own a 2004.5 Sportsman 600 twin 4x4 in yellow. It's been a awesome machine. I only had one problem with mine. It was equiped with the Carlise Badland tires from the factory. I thought they were a good tire (my buddy has them on his 2004 Arctic Cat 500 and he has no problems). But after about a month of riding with them I got frustrated with their performance. They only seemed to work the best on good to moderate terrain. If I got into any kind of deep mud, or slick terrain I was pretty much a sitting duck. Plus I both of my back tires went flat on my only after about 500 miles of riding. I wanted to upgrade to a more aggresive tire, so I wend out and bought a rear set of Carlise Swamp Pro tires. They are 27x10x12 in size. They are similer to the Super Swamper Vampire tire's tread design. I havn't had any complaints with these tires. I am going to buy the matching set for up front when I got the money. I would just like to know how many other sportsman owners were disapointed with the performance of their set of Badland tires?

For right now. I am running the stock badland 25x8x12 up front. I plan to buy a full set of ITP rims, and two more 27" Swamp pro tires in the near future.

I just put mud lites on the back of my 700 yesterday. The right one would not hold air anymore even with 2 plugs in several holes. I am hoping that with a 10 inch wide tire and a better sidewall I can stop getting flats every time I ride at Sutton Bluff. I have replaced the right front, and it already has a plug in it. All that with only 450 miles on it.

If you have problems with the Badlands Carlise will replace them, they come with a 2 year warranty.

Do you think they would claim road hazard? The holes came from rocks. It was plugged and slimed as well.

ya I remember you telling me that at the mounds jimmypsp700.

I have not had any problems with flats or holes on my 700EFI but I do agree that the tires suck when getting into the mud or any slick spots. I plan to go to the ITP mudlites (26 or 27's) with the ITP type 6 polished wheels as soon as I get some cash. hopefully I can get the cash after christmas.

If you look at the new "Polaris" tires on the 05's, they are made by Carlisle as well and there have been people saying they are a better tires but I have no experience with them yet, you should pm Elkbow and ask him about the 05 Polaris tires, maybe he still has his and wants to sell them cause he is running the 27's on his 05
