A new pipe to consider for the Predator???
#1
Just when you thought you had the perfect pipe for your Predator.....
I found out some info from CTracing that sounds very promising. As you know they have developed excellent, adjustable disc-type exhaust systems for the Z400, Raptor, and YFZ. There pipes always produce high HP, and often win alot of the pipe-shootouts you see in the mags. One of biggest features IMO, is the disc adjustability, if you need to quiet down things for dB limits (just take a few discs out), and they have a spark arrestor.
Anyway, CT has had a pipe out for the Predator now for a while, but seems to not be marketing it much because the pipe requires modification to the airbox to get true gains - and CT does not have a system to sell along with the pipe. The Predator's airbox design is not the best, as it uses a flat automotive type filter that requires the airbox lid to be in place. According to the CT tech I spoke with (who did the testing on the Predator), they fabricated a rath-style direct mount filter for the results and had 40+ HP from 6000 RPM all the way up to the Rev limiter, with minimal drop off. Peak HP was around 45, with a 180MJ. CT was very happy with the performance of their pipe on the Predator, and according to the CT tech, their dyno proves it.
Anyway, after a little persuasion they said they will post the system for sale on their web page within a week, with the dyno sheet and just denote that the gains of their pipe are acheived with a modded air-intake system. It's a full system with headpipe, and going to sell for around $500.
