I guess you have been there before RAJ, that right?

Did you go on a weekend where they had a jambaree or something? Like I said I haven't been there, and I would like to go on a big weekend where there are a ton of people, I think, maybe not. I would like to hear others thoughts on that.

We went down the end of may....wow it was fun. They are always alot of people there. What happend was we got down there about 2:00 pm friday, so we unloaded everything and took off. We rode(on our quads) from where we was staying 4 miles to the trail head. Then we came back and drunk some cold ones, then went to bed....got up the next morning to went riding. I bet we rode for 6 hours, until we came to a town called Gilbert....so we rode through the town to McDonalds, and got something to eat. Well we was not going to make it back over the mountain before it got dark, (it gets dark there quick)so we took the road back, we ending up riding about 16 miles on the road. We got back had some cold ones...then went about 300 yards to the Drag Strip. You guys will have a great time. We are going to go down thursday night to unpack and be ready friday morning. The Drag strip don't open up until the end of May. So sometime around end of May to the frist of June, is when we are going.

If you guys want to do this then, the place we stay at sleeps about 12-14 people....and they are another place next door that sleeps about 10 people. We could book both places and have a great time. Let me know if you want to. I'm going to send half of the money to him soon...for the place we stayed at last time. I told him that we might go ahead and rent next door also. I think they are 9 of us going.

Wow. That sounds awesome.

Let me talk to the guys at work and see what they think. I am up for it, even if they wanna go earlier, I can make two trips! I have about a month and a half worth of vacation to use, so hell, I can take a long weekend every weekend!

Hey Troyer23J. My wife and I would love to go. We have been planning a trip in the spring, but we have to plan it during her break from school. We don't know when exactly it would be, but we are definitely looking forward to it. Keep us informed.

Does anyone know where the local campgrounds are?
Thanks

The link to the trail system is in this thread a couple times, they have campgrounds listed there. My friends all want to camp. Call me a pansy, but i would rather get a cabin or something like RAJ is talking about. We'll see.

I am glad to be getting some response, most people that post here alot seem to be from the east, and these trails are pretty centrally located, be sweet for a bunch of us to get together.

Hey THEWAYOUT420, you see this?! haha

Twin Hollow campground is right on the Rock house trail.....look in Hatfield/McCoy website for all your information . look under lodging

I can give information on most of the lodging in the area, as well as the trails

The rates where we stayed are $50.00 for the frist two people and $10.00 each other person. This place had 2 full bath and a washer and dryer, big deck....with a grill. They are a paintball park right hehind us, and the drag strip is about 300 yards away....whick you can ride your quad to. You are not aloud to ride on the road at night. And they told me tonight that they are making a mx track in front of where we are staying.
