bent valve or something else...what do you think?
ok i took my magneto cover off the other day...while it was off i thought today i would check how far off my timing was (it's off 1/8 - 3/16 of an inch on the cam timing)...so i pulled the valve cover off and was turning the engine over by hand and every time i got to the intake stroke (intake cam going down and exhaust was flat) i would hear a click!!! i though "hey maybe that's the ticking noise i've been hearing every since my big bore was put in"....so i kept doing it rolling the fly wheel back and forth and it would keep clicking at the begining of the intake stroke!!! what do you think it is????
also how much free play should be in the cam chain...i can push it down and pull it up about 1/4" each way ...is this normal
please let me know what you think!!!
thanks

If you are getting a click when turning over by hand slow, I'd check the rockers(I'm assuming it's set up similar to a raptor, but haven't played with a predator under the valve cover) Sounds like way too much lash. Or maybe a broken valve spring.

well i talked to doug...he said the click is the decomp on the exhuast cam.....but i need new cam chain and tensioner!!!!! and posibly cams to!!!! valves are ok!!! that sucks....replacing a valve would be cheaper!!
that also explains why my timing keeps jumping a tooth!!!
