i just put a sun tach in and and it does nothing til i rev the **** out of it then it flys up then drops to 0 at idle? i set it on 4,6,8 same thing what gives?

 

It won't work it's made for a auto/car motor
take a look at the TMI@tmiled.com
It works great will go up to 30,000RPM

thats deff not true. my sunpro worked fine untill my battery went out and it fried the thing. now it just goes in circles, but before my battery went bad it worked great.

 

i dont know why i hooked it up like u said in the last tach posting mudmaster?

 

well i picked up another tach off a 02 sled damm this one is big almost 5'' i will try it a see how it works it is a 6 pulse so i hope it is fine

 

Are you trying to hook one up one your 500, or 400?

A 6-pulse is designed for the 4-strokes if I'm not mistaken. A regular sunpro should work fine in the 4 cylinder setting. Black to ground, red to ignition on, white to lights on, and hook the green to the yellow/red stripe wire coming out of the stator.

 

bubba this tach came off a 2 stroke sled ? are the 400`s 6 pulse per rev? if not what are they?

 

if u used teh same post i used and did it right i cant see why its not workin. makes no sense to me.
