maybe CVT wine but not the clanks and clunks, the Kawi cvt is alot smother than the Polaris IMO. Belt seem to last alot longer also. This comes from owning several polaris CVTs and several Kawi CVT' s. Yamaha has the best CVT I have ever had, kawi is not far behind and the kawi is dealing with alot more power than the yamaha.

Your right the cvt does whine alot, it almost hurts your ears and the clank and clunks come from the electronic brake in the the cvt cover. I do agree with you about the kawasaki cvt, I think it is a good system. It just makes more noise than Polaris. I know the Polaris cvt and Kawasaki cvt's are set up about the same. Never had a yamaha, so I can't comment on that.

Okay this is what my local polaris mechainst told me...
He went to some polaris update school a week ago in Pa
and they said the noise is in the tranny, and it's slack in the dogears, so as the shifting is easy.
Grab the propshaft and roll your wrist back and forth, you hear it in the tranny and feel it on the shift rod.
????????????just passing it on??????????
TEX,
sure does
