Default scrambler 500 dial a jet

i have done alot of searching on this forum and other sites. but i have yet to hear of anyone using the dialajet on a scrammy 500. i have seen numerous people using it with a 2-stoke application, and really love it. i would think that a 4 stroke would benefit just the same too, right?

through reading all the articles and descriptions, it really seems like a simple yet solid and reliable concept.

i do alot of winter riding, but no real changes in elevatation. i am thinking that this would help with riding throughout the temperature changes.

any one with any thoughts would be appeciated.

New here guys, but have been a quad guy for over 10 yrs. I have thought about this same thing. I know when I had my 400ex I read an article in DW about putting a dial-a-jet on an ex. They said it worked very well. I know as easy as Polaris makes it to access the carb & plug on the 500, it sure as heck come in handy! I live where the temps vary from 0 to 90 through the year. I just jetted mine for a little on the rich side for say 60-80* so being a 4-stroke & all, she should be ok yet at 20*, considering that I have to put my stock pipe on for lake riding ( was interviewed by the Do.Nothing.Right. once & by a local 5-0 for the pipe on my ex, so I already put the stocker on my Scram. for this winter ) For the price that a dial-a-jet costs, ( under $80 ) it would be a good idea.

I've already got a bigger carb for my Trail Boss, just waiting till after Christmas to buy a Dial a Jet. Think that will help with any bog you get from idle to hard accelleration. Rocky Mountain has them for 63 dollars, plus snorkel kit for 8. Won't cure any main jet problems, but if you're riding in different elevations and temperatures, does save the hastle of taking the carb apart.

ScramblerX, why dont you just incorporate a simple powerjet like we do on the 2-strokes? You can pick them up on e-bay for around $20 and installation is simpe. It basically adjusts for around 5 main jet range.

Haven't put it on yet. It's going on a 4 stroke and heard that could be a problem. Since we ride all year (if it ever snows here, I'll be out in it) it would be easier to adjust with the dial a jet and not worry about burning the piston.
