Default 600 CDI box in a 700 EFI

Anyone heard of replacing the CDI ignition box in a 04 700 EFI with a 600 CDI box. I have been told the 600 has a more aggressive timing advance and 250 rpm higher rev limiter.
Anyone heard of this?

I dont' think its possible, remember that you're talking about a Carb'd 600 vs a 700 EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection)....

I understand that, but why would the ignition curve matter between the carb and EFI? I don't think it does.... Is that why the 600 has a better bottom end (more timing)?

again, you're talking about a Carb vs a fuel injected system.....the Carb is controlled by the tuning of the carb, the computer in the EFI controls much more than just the fuel injectors....it has sensors located in different area's to adjust the fuel/air mixture.....also, there wouldn't be the same connections for anything on the machines.....it would be impossible...

i'm not sure what you are talking about when you say 'CDI box'? do you mean ignition controller? totally different setup between these two machines....the EFI uses a complex system that has a computer/controller, not like the 600 which is only controlled by minor electronics for the firing system fuel/air mixture is completely controlled by the carb....

the only way you can make an EFI more powerfull would be to buy an aftermarket thing like Dyno-Jet's PowerCommander EFI

Dyno Jet doesn't mess with the timing.

The dynojet Power Commander makes changes to both ignition timing and fuel/air mixture, depending on the model....the PC III that is out right now on the 2004 Polaris only does fuel/air mixture adjustments....

Right the 04 only makes air/fuel adjustments. That is why i'm looking for another way of playing with the timing. I have talked to DynoJet, they said they were going to make one for the 04 but i haven't seen one yet, talked to them 6 months ago.

04 or 04???? same thing....

anyways, the Dynoject Power Commander for the Polaris is the USB model....it has an expansion port.....after talking with their tech support, they plan on releasing expansion updates, either HW or firmware, not sure, for ignition changes....its in work...

If you want me to be politically correct the EFI didn't come out technically until 04.5, since I mentioned it was a EFI I thought people would have already known.
