Sorry to hear about your overheating. But don't worry it is usually a short term thing. Everytime you clean up your quad be sure to flush the radiator, as they will clog up if you have been mud riding.

The radiators will also clog if you repeatedly douse the radiator in puddles and then drive down dusty roads over a long weekend.

The usual overheating problem is caused by submersion in a peat bog.

Since there is a shroud around the new fans and completely enclosing the bottom of the radiator; it is important to clean the bottom row of radiator fins first in a horizontal manner working your way up the radiator with a pressurized hose. This will enable trapped mud to flow out of the radiator while cleaning. Clean from the bottom up repeatedly and the radiator should be mud free.

Good luck. Been there, it is easy really

I had the same problem with my 425 mag this weekend(see post below) After reading the replies I went out and removed the radiator screen and was surprised at how long it took me to remove all of the mud( My son had been riding in some very heavy mud the last time my atv was used). I have not had chance to ride it since but I believe this was the problem. I had checked the water level in the radiator and it was full as was the overflow bottle.

My overheat light and fan went on last weekend on my Trail Boss 325 (fan cooled with 3 stage oil radiator). Well it ticked me off. I was riding hard, but it was a cool day and there was no mud in the radiator. After sitting 15 minutes with the light and fan still on I decided it was most likely an electrical problem. It kind of wrecked the rest of my day though because in the back of my mind I was thinking 1.If this is actually overheating I am really doing some damage and 2. If it is not I am pissed because I only have 350 miles on it and have problems. Plus I kept my top speed at about 20 mph just in case.

After a 3 hour ride home(on the trailer) the light and fan still came on. A few days later when I checked it went off. Maybe some water caused a short?

Anyway, Stuff like that really sucks when your trying to have fun!
