Default lock & ride anchors

Has anyone used the new lock and ride anchoring system available for the new Sportsman racks yet? I have one of those big Kipex seat/boxes that my wife rides on. Was wondering if anyone had bought the anchors and used them on non-lock and ride accessories.
Thanks,
Steve

Default lock & ride anchors

I got the Plastic cargo box for the Rear for free with my purchase.
Only 2 anchors are used to hold it down.
The anhors must be placed through a supplied bracket which then can be bolted to the box.
They fit in the round holes only. Not the oblong holes.
You adjust the nut on the bottom of the anchor which tightens the fat rubber grommet against the anchor.
When you place the anchor in the hole and snap the lever down (90 degree bend) it pulls up on the anchor bolt which then further smushs(expands) the rubber grommet which in turn locks itself inside the round hole in the rack.
Once attached I could not lift the cargo box off the quad.
I would thing you could buy the anchors and attach the brackets to anything, as long as the barckets mate up with the device you are trying to anchor down.
Hope this helped.

Thanks, Rush.
Ya, I know how they work and where they go, guess I what I don't know is what the bracket looks like. There is no picture of it on the Polaris website. The bottom of my box falls inside of the round holes, and the sides go up at a steep angle, so if the bracket that comes with the anchors is just a 90-degree angle, I'll have to make something else. Maybe I'll just bolt the box to a plate, then put the anchors throught the plate beside the box. Could you tell me what the bracket looks like? How thick is it? How far does the anchor stick up above the bracket when it's tightened down? Your help is sure appreciated.

Thanks, Dave. I did see that, but the one for $14.99 says "with mount", but shows the same picture as the replacement anchor for $9.99 with no mount. I'm wondering what that mounting bracket looks like, and if it will be useable with my box.

I can take a picture of my bracket but I don't know if it will do you any good.
It's thinner then 1/8". Since the anchor bolt is adjustable you can put any size braket in there within reason.
I'd put your seat in place and get 2 anchors and then build a template out of cardboard (shoebox type) then fabricate a bracket from the template.
I'll see about posting the pix tonight.

How about some measurements of it inside the box folded down in the locked position.

Are the lock and ride anchors only compatible with 05 racks? My 04 has little circular holes on the rack, but i am not sure if those are lock and ride points or not.

The lock and ride anchors are only compatible with the '05 racks....even though the '04's and early have round holes in the rack, the '05's have two sets of round holes that are different size....one will fit the anchors....

as far as the looks of the lock and ride anchors...from my link,,,,those are the ones that can be used with most equipment, I have a couple of extra laying around if you want to see them....you can make mounts for other things by buying just the anchor....I had a couple of things in mind, just haven't done it yet, thats why I picked up a couple and I did it when Polaris had the 20% off....so what the hell....
