They are not only imports, I have a 05 Mustang GT. I would like to have the head done and it ported, maybe this spring.


The Raptor is not built any better then the Predator. If you ride them both I think you will come home with a Pred. Enjoy whatever you get.

Ride them both. The Raptor has the bigger motor, but the Pred comes with better shocks, tires, wheels, and axle. So I guess you have to decide between the two.

 

I was kinda thinking about getting a Raptor myself. Two of my buddies have new Predators and I love the power compared to my EX. It does kinda bother me however that the only accidents I've seen on quads were Raptors but I'm sure I would be ok. So I decided to...................

I didn't write any more on it because I didn't intend to start anything too negative. Stating that adding 500 dollars worth of mods to the raptor will make it better is just plain irresponsible. That's completely a matter of opinion. And If I told you I've raced a Raptor with 4 grand into it between suspension, a-arms, axle and performance hop ups and that I can beat it against a rider who weighs 80 pounds less then me, well, I just don't think that you'd believe me. Though, it is true. Maybe it's because it's an 01 raptor. By the way, I've only got about 420 dollars worth of mods on mine.

Ok if you put 500 dollars in a Raptor, to make it better then the Predator, then what if the guy that owns the Predator takes 500 and put it into the Predator? So Dirt wheels would say the Predator is alot better quad.......BUT if you put 500 more in the Raptor, and the guy that owns the Pred does not...then the Raptor would be a better quad.

Any way if you want to have starter problems....and the carbs poping out of the boots, then go get the Raptor. I know this for a fact!

 

I assume that DW is referring to adding a pipe to the raptor for the 500 dollars. The raptor responds much better to a pipe than the Polaris, so feel free to pipe them both and spend your 500 dollar allotment.

In any case, why the hell are we all arguing over a dirtwheels article? Its dirtwheels? Funny how they cant be trusted for anything but for some reason its ok to listen to DW when they say something good about your machine...

As for the starter and carb boot issues, you posted the same thing in the thread in the yamaha forum. Seeing this happen on one bike does not mean that either are unavoideable or even an issue for most riders.

Will this moronic debate never end? I mean c'mon. This has happened so many times its not even funny. Every thread is full of the same people saying the same old crap.

I dont know about you, but I can enjoy my bike without cutting down another.

 

I don't care what dirt wheels says. They love Yamaha and thats it. I can't believe they said anything good about the Pred. And I think all the Polaris guys will say the same thing. We was all in shock[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img].

 

ATV sport named the 03 pred sport quad of the year, even when they whined about neutral and the trans. Positive press for the pred is not a new thing. Dirtwheels hasnt been all that favorable to polaris in the past, but in the last 6 months or so they have been pro polaris with thier comments on the 700/800 and predator. But once again we're talking about magazines that we know we have to take with a grain of salt.

 

If you look at the Dirt Wheel mag. they are a yfz just about on every page...and has been this way since they have came out. And I know you can not believe everything they say, that goes to D.W and ATV Sport.
