Around here I can get a 2001 Sportsman 400 for $6200 or I can get a 2000 Sportsman 500 for $6200. Should I get the 400 so I could get all of the updates for 2001 (I assume the same updates as the 500HO except for the motor) or should I get the 2000 500 so I would have the bigger motor and the EBS? I'm leaning towards the 2001 400 in yellow right now. I've ridden both so I know that the power thing is not the issue. It's the updates vs. EBS. I going on the Pumpkin ride down in Oakridge, TN on October the 7th and 8th so I need to make up my mind soon.

 

How does the 400 compare with the 500 in power, speed etc ??

 

it is the 425 motor out of the Xpedition I bet it would compare nicely to a regular 500 SP. I bet it will be a nice machine i would buy it before a 2000 SP if it comes with all the same updates as the 2001 HO.
