I would like to add... I realize I'm having a tough time with my preddy right now, but I don't think I'd like riding anything else like I love my preddy. I've tried yfz's and all, and I'd probably be faster on a track with a yfz, but I just love how the preddy handles. I'm not sure if I heard right, but I think Matt Smiley is riding a predator in next years races, so lets see how it does.... right.

PS- what I'll probably do is get mine fixed and then either trade it in or sell it outright and get the new TLD preddy....... once I try out the 4th to 5th transition. I know brad was saying that it can be fixed with a sprocket change, but I don't see how. No matter what sprockets you put on it, the difference in gearing between 4th and 5th is still the same. You aren't gonna want to put a smaller sprocket on the front or a bigger sprocket on the rear of the TLD because that'll shorten up your first 4 gears even more than they are.... right? Brad, if you read this, explain please. Thanx

Welll I don't really know for sure, but I think guys were talking like you just shorten it up, and quit using 1st, and then you could use 5th.......there was a topic on here not long ago(maybe a week), look through the last couple of pages, it is a long topic that they talked about it........

Just an update... A person I know who is affiliated with Polaris has notified me that there is a memo coming out about tranny's in certain 04 predators being faulty, so Polaris may actually end up helping me out with this... I hope. I need to give them my Vin # so they can tell me if mine is covered or not.

You've heard me sing their praises before. Polaris has stood behind the Predator in such a way, that it's a model in customer service. Keep your professionalism, and provide all the needed info they ask...you might be pleasantly surprised.

I have to say this after a summer with a DVX. It is a nifty machine. I really like the styling. I just can't get over the steering radius....that's where the Predator really spoils you.

Hozed, that's great news. How did u go about getting the problem fixed. See, the problem is... my buddy owns a repair shop. My dealer told me he would contact polaris once they take the machine apart and find out what's wrong with it, BUT if polaris decides to not cover any of the repairs, then I'm stuck with the whole bill, and my dealer charges a lot more than my buddy does. So, I can take my chances of having polaris possibly pay for repairs and if not I'm stuck with a big bill, or I can just cut my losses and go to my buddy. My dealer wont make any promises on any coverage by Polaris until they know exactly what's broken and how, but to find that out, I have to have my dealer take the machine apart $$$. What do u suggest I do. Should I contact Polaris directly??? And if so, how. Thanx a lot for any info you have to share, it's really appreciated.

PS- I love the DVX too, but the turning radius does SUCK. It fun but a little "soft" (all but the seat).

all i read was the 1st post, never heard of the 04 tranny going bad...HPD sells the 03 update kit for $200 seems it would work. i just had to do my tranny. it is lots of fun! my 4th gear was gone. it felt like the clutch was slipping real bad. it ended up being my shift fork, it was pretty grided up. and while your into the motor you better juet do a big bore to..lol

good luck
