I was just wondering how well you all like your SPs,and if it is true they are a lot of trouble?Like the over heating, shifter adjustment changeing from hard ridding. Also I wish to put my 27"tri claws on one. I realy want a 2001 spho bad so the 450s is going.

Sure I had my problems with my 2000 SP but all was covered on warranty. Now it works great, and with the bi-tri claws, 27" tall and highlifter kit, I am pretty much unstoppable. 2500 miles and going strong, no need to upgrade to the HO after doing a clutch mod from AAEN. Need brakes soon, but that is just wear and tear. Pretty happy with my Polaris, thats for sure.

You will love it mine has 1200 miles on it climbs like a goat and rides like a cad...only thing mine is needing now is brakes which are coming soon...if you do stick over size tires expect trouble though I got 26 black waters on mine 26x12x12 and I expect trouble...

The only trouble I have heard of, but never had due to safe operation, is reversing the quad and turning the 27" rubber hard via steering while in AWD. Evidently the Polaris boys haven't beefed up the steering to handle the larger stress. But with safe and controlled reversing, problems should not arise. Changing oil and filter often and giving her plenty of grease jobs make her run absolutely sweet. It'll be great when it comes time to pull a few moose out of the sticks this fall.

So what is the approximate retail cost of the new HO Sportsman anyways? Not seen them up here at my local dealers shop yet. Hurts to see somebody go out and buy 2 of them after barely being able to afford only one SP, 2000 model myself.

I was told retail was 6999.00 but I bought mine for 6200.00 a piece.I gave up a 99 Harley wide glide to buy the quads---so the whole family could have fun instead of just me

Clintrey,
I'm about a hour south east of you and like the price you got those HO's for. Where did you buy them at? The best price I've seen is MSRP.

not a single problem yet and 1500 miles on it. They are tough and quite bulllet proof. i am leaving mine stock. might get blackwaters but they will be 25 inch like stock.
