Starting Trailblazer without a choke - Starting fluid?
#13
I appreciate the advice the buy the choke cable and I agree. However, there is a factor here that I didn't add because it wasn't relevant to the original question. The four wheeler is my daughter's responsibility. When she does her chores and earns an allowance, then she can have the money to pay for parts. She's not been doing this, so she earns no money. When she does get some cash, it seems to burn a hole in her pocket and she's got it spent before I know about it. Occasionally, I want to fire this thing up and when I want to do so, it's easier to just have a $3 can of carb cleaner sitting around than to buy the cable, which is not my responsibility. It's not the money, rather, it's the principle.

Been there, done that. I can see why you wouldn't want to buy it. But, if it does score the piston wall, wouldn't you be responsible for fixing it? Is there a way to keep her from riding it (keep the key, put a lock on it) until she gets back on track? Just wouldn't want see the motor go and you loose your fun too.

What I would do is buy the cable and make her put it in. Do what I do tell them how to but let them do it.I hear all the time by my daughters girls can do anything boys can do so I told the oldest one to change the tire on her car and she didnt know what to do she said ill just use my cellphone if I ever get A flat.I said yah call A man to come and do it.Shes A lot better know cause I made her do it and at least shes got some idea.

A for what was said earlier about an engine gettin addicted to either, it can, We have ran diesel trucks for years and if u start them all the time on either they will always want it, we had a local truck that was soo addicted, it had a new set of glowplugs and it still needed either to start when it was 65 degrees outside
