Default Floorboard relocation

I have read on the froums that people have moved their floorbaords back on their sportsmans for extra tire clearence. Was wondering how they did it?

I will probably have to do the same to mine after I install the 27' mudlites/ITP type 6 wheels. You may want to get in touch with ELKBOW or MOOSEHUNTER.

Yea maybe they will chim in and shed some light. I had 27" Gators on stock wheels with the 3" wheel spacers so they wouldn't rub the tierods. After I made some 1" thick spacers to go under the spring they never rubbed the fenders again. Now that I have the 26" Mudlites with type 6 wheels plus I still have the wheels spacers they rub over any little bump.

Default Floorboard relocation

I've got the 2005 machine, so clearance is not a problem. Haven't heard of moving the floorboard back, so I'm assuming this is just for front tire clearance of the fender....just cut the fender off...lol...just kidding....

looking at the way the floorboard is connected, peaks my interest, not that i would need to do, but just wonder how they do it....

If I'm not mistaken I think they drilled 4 new holes on each side to move it back. I just wanted to be sure.

Default Floorboard relocation

I guess I don't understand....the floorboard on my 05 machine has 4 quick disconnects, two on the front and two on the rear that connect to the fender, then it has 4 screws connecting to the floorboard mounting plate that is welded to the frame....

I still haven't removed my floorboards, still haven't figured out how those plastic disconnects work....anyone have info?

if you drill 4 new holes, where are you talking about?

Mine has 4 phillips head bolts that go down threw the floorboard that bolts it to the frame. I have took them loose when I installed my clutch kit and you can move the floorboard back or forward an inch or two. Looks like I could drill 4 new holes 1" in front of the original holes and gain that 1" for tire clearence.

Ah, I get it now...duh.

The molding on my floorboards has them sitting in some grooves on the bottom that match the metal plate, not that it can't sit up somewhat. I think you could do it.

How do those plastic connectors work, I basically ripped them out of the front in order to mount the brushguard as I need to put bolts through the holes?
