I can't see why Polaris didn't do it sooner. I mean the 400-500cc class is like the largest segment in the 4x4 market is it not? With Polaris offering the only 500 class EFI ATV they won't be able to make them quick enough I think. There were a few changes from the 700 and 700EFI. Like a 500 watt charger vs. a 300 watt. Different cam, and some other small things. I sure would like to see Polaris make a 500EFI, I think it would be one of the best things they have ever done in terms of growing the company...

 

the 500 EFI is the next logical choice....just as long as they keep the price competitive....

next will be an EFI Predator...nah, that wouldn't be any fun....maybe a EFI scrambler....nah....I would like an EFI Yamaha Wolverine...I still like those machines...fun to drive and go 55+ mph out of a 350 engine....

 

well u can go with 1 piston this way and not have to rejet and get even better gasmilage

 

Wonder what it would cost to retrofit the EFI to the 500 HO motor??? Polaris should offer a conversion kit!!!

It was bound to happen. Lets face it, the 500 sportsmans have all the power most of us need. If an EFI 500 was offered last Oct when I bought my 700 EFI I would have bought it instead.

 

not to mention the fuji built 500 engines are great. I feel they
are better engines than the liberty twins.. imho..
that 500 efi combo should be a great hit next year..
I just wonder if they'll release it in july or august like most
of their model year begins...
can't wait to ride one..

 

there is no way you can compair the 2, one is a OHV and the other one is an DOHC also, ones a single and ones a twin.

 

Actually, the 500 HO motor is a SOHC. The Pred's motor is a DOHC

 

I hope they offer EFI as an option across the board. An EFI scrammy would be great!

On the 500 , 700 issue i would never go down to a 500, i'm sold on the twins. Like other twins im fond of. LOL
