In need of a good 40mm carb.

Default In need of a good 40mm carb.

Hello I am interested in putting a 40mm carb on a 700 sportsman...any info would be helpful.

I found mine on Ebay. The 40mm carb really wakes the 700 up awsome throttle response.

Will the throtle cable and choke cable work or is thier a mod in store for me?

Default In need of a good 40mm carb.

The throttle cable will work but needs a spacer like a nut to keep it from screwing in all the way because it will not let the throttle open if its screwed all the way in. The choke cable is different were it screws into the carb here is the part you need #25. I made my own out of a fitting we had at the garage I had to rethread it to make it work (dealer didn't have one & I was ready to ride this thing). The boots will fit over the carb with a little soap and after they are on there awhile the will streach and go on easier the next time. The bracket where the carb mounts will have to be redrilled nothing major just mark and drill. You will have to rejet also mine has a 162.5 main jet 2 turns out on the mixture screw and the clip on last notch down on the needle.
