I just broke mine on sunday by kicking it to try to break the ice on it . I got the ice off, though.

Very nice. I cracked the vertical part of mine, in between the footbrake and the engine. One of those things that just makes you go "doh!!".

How hard was it to make those guards? What exactly did you use? They look very simple to do compared to the nerf bars (im 15, so no welder. And no welding friends).

Looking at his guards....all you have to do is measure them out, have someone cut out the right size and bend the ends for you, then drill holes and mount them....doesn't look too hard....I haven't broke a floorboard on any of my sportsmans, I've bent them, but haven't broke them....I try to make sure I don't get them hung up, its like the steps on my ford superduty, I try not to get them hung up, although I did earlier this year, got a tree stuck under there, but instead of ruining the stepside, it bent part of my body...lol

I didnt break the bottom part though, I broke the part that runs up alongside the engine, and from what I could see, it is one piece with the footwell (maybe it isnt, it was really snowy.) I have never had mine get caught up either. Maybe its a separate piece, I'll look later.

if on Ebay they go for $90 is that brand new or a used part?

if used, i would pay the extra $30 and buy it brand new from the Dealer.

also, how much is shipping from Ebay? that might really narrow the $30 gap between Ebay vs Dealer.

just a thought.............

From Breese on e-bay they are new, shipping depends on where your at, for me it was $13 I think so $103 total and here in 2 days.
