I was out yesterday at the local dealers, mostly on the phone trying to work a deal on a Kawasaki KLR650. I knew what dealer cost was as I mentioned earlier, damn the dealers are tight around here. I can almost guarantee I won't buy another ATV from any of them, I'll get some friends together, take a vacation and run across country and pick up the ATV in Chattagnooga.
Anyways, the dealer cost on the Kawasaki was $4451, retail is $5099. They have a 5% holdback and there is a $200 incentive this month. I wheeled and dealed, and wheeled and dealed some more, did some serious BSing to the dealers. Anyways, finally got the machine for $4705 out the door. Thats with tax and registration included. Tax is 3% here on vehicles in NM, registration he mischarged me on the price, it should have came out to $4800, thats the deal I had worked. Anyways, going to get it this morning, was raining too hard yesterday....hopefully the rain holds off this morning....

Have a problem though, when I drive, the handlebar is slightly to the right....so either take it to the dealer or lift the front end off the ground, loosen all the fork clamps and turn it....funny how they can put them together like this from the factory...

The fork brace will probably go on at sometime. I ordered a Dynojet kit, K&N filter and Big Gun Quiet series exhaust. Further looking at the machine, I believe the forks aren't tweaked in the clamps, maybe just slightly which I moved alittle this morning....the real problem is that the front fairing is off to one side.....I'll have to remove everything ....light, blinker, fairing, etc. in order to move it over alittle...i.e. bend the main mount....

First off, thanks for all the info. My better half is in the market for a ATP and so happens we live about 5 miles from the Polaris dealer in Chattanooga. I was searching web to see if the price he was quoted was within reason, so guess we are ok. For the record, I have bought 2 Sedan Devilles and a Forrester from Kelly Cadillac, who owns the Polaris place, so they are probably going to be around for awhile. (like the fella mentioned prior). Come to Chatt town for a visit and a purchase. God knows we need you, since they have run all our industry out of town. LOL ... Seriously, it is a super place for vacation ..... the pipfitter's wife
