I just bought a new k & n ail filter for me 2004 sportsman 700 and it just wont run with it. Has anyone ever had this problem with this. It just isnt geting enought air thew it. I thought they were supost to hae more but i guess not. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I just installed a K&N on my 700efi and I cut the small 1 inch diameter intake tube and fitted a 2 1/2 inch hose in it's place. I also trimmed some of the plastic from the inside of the airbox lid. I have not checked my plugs yet, but it is really running well right now. (Knock on wood.) By my approximate calculations, I increased my area for possible air intake by 166%. Did you get that Pre-Filter? Water Resistant Cover for the Main Filter....
They have a White and Blue one ...
The Blue supose to be High Flow..
I thinking of doing it to mine .....Just Low on Cash.....

I checked my plugs today. They look just fine. I guess the efi adjusted enough to take care of the extra air intake.
