I had about 7 sidewall plugs in my old 500 Sportsman...if its just a puncture, the put a plug in it, they work fine....if its a cut, replace the tire....You can pull the tire off the rim and patch it from the inside if its just a puncture.....plugs work fine though

Elkbow is right on. He gave me the same advise about 3 months ago. I put a plug in it (my right rear sidewall) and it has not leaked at all. As far as doing it on your friends quad, you will see how good of friends you really are. Good luck.

man I would be pissed off if one of my buddies put a hole in one of my tires then wanted to patch or plug it, I would want a new tire or one that is in like new shape.

I, of course, would not be happy if a buddy of mine put the hole in it, but if it happened during normal riding then so be it. The item that punctured the tire didn't know that it wasn't the owner riding the quad. If you are going to ride, sooner or later you will get a flat tire. Only the two involved know what and how it really happened. If a plug can fix it, then get over it and keep the friendship. Someday the shoe may be on the other foot. Just MHO.

four different people rode it within 30 minutes i happen to be the last person on it. i noticed it was flat. i got blamed. thats why im looking for the cheap way out. one of the other people riding it must have said something to him, today he said he'll split it with me now.
