well i ski race uk, so i have the spandex crap and i actually just wear to layers of spandex under my riding pants, two t's and a sweatshirt under my jearsy, 2 pairs of sox, my riding boots and helemt, ive been out in 5 degrees with my reg riding gear on and been pretty warm. I love wearing my gear, dont have to worry about getting it ripped or staind or anything like that

 

I've been over in Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, etc....so I know what you mean when it could be tough to find places to ride, depending on where you live. Not a problem here in New Mexico, alot of places to ride. Sounds like you and your father have some nice machines. Wish we could ride on the road here, but oh well....if they ever said you could, I could see going to Walmart to go shopping, have good racks on the Sportsman to put the goods one when I go back...lol
