Who is running the HPD air box mod for the Scrambler 500? We are looking into this air box mod for a buddy's Scrambler.....I just want to know what comes with the kit, and what kind of gain you got from it.

BBS has one I am sure he will chime in soon.
From what I can Gather there is a new spring jet tube and jets for the carb and maybe a needle not sure
Power gain is somewhere around 2hp with better throttle response
I do not know for sure cause I do not have theres just what I have read

Alpine2 is correct on his info. He should do the exhaust or you will not get the full benefit of the air box mod. HPD provides a good sheet of instructions with there products. I had no problems with my install

He has the heat seat pipe now, and he wants the HPD pipe. His gains with the heat seat pipe was no good. So how do you guys like you HPD pipe? How loud is it, and is it spark arrested?

Raj, check out my photos for pics of the install of the airbox mod. It came with a 170 main jet, modified needle jet tube, new slide spring, as well as the rivits and drill bit to attach the scoop. I would definately recommend a prefilter on the air filter with this kit. It flows a lot more air, as well as everything else that wants to come in. I noticed a good improvement in throttle response with this kit. As far as the HPD pipe goes, it is NOT spark arrested. I dont know whether or not HPD plans on making a spark arrested exhaust or not. I am going to modify mine so it will look like it is spark arrested.
