IMO, warn and ramsey are pretty equal. I have never considered Superwinch do to hearing to many others having problems. I think you get what you pay for.

Yeah, Warn and Ramsey are much better. If you're gonna get a cheap one, you might as well get the $49 from Harbor Freight. Probably as good as the Superwinch.

Warn is the top of the line winch and you get your money's worth, ramsey is another great product. all superwinch is, is a chicago electric with a different label. if you want to go cheap go to harbor freight and pick up the chicago electric winch for $69 and get a handle bar mounted switch. I have heard alot of good things about the cheap winches but don't know how long they last.

In the March addition of dirtwheels they have an artical on the warn 1500 winch. They have nothing but good things to say about it and its use for a sport atv.

thanks for the opinions

Where can you get a handle bar switch at? Any ideas?
Anyone know if the Chicago would fit a Sportsman 600?

I bought my 2000# Warn winch used on Ebay for $150.00, have seen others in that same range. The guys wife bought him a 3000 warn for his birthday so he replaced it (He said he didn't notice any difference between the 2000 and the 3000).

I found that this was a great way to get a good winch cheap.

Default warn vs superwinch?

I bought a Chicago from Harbor Freight to do a project, the controller burnt up after about 10 minutes, brought it back. They gave me another one, same thing happened.Another downfall to these cheap winches is the fact that they have no stall. The winch would pick up my body weight, but then it would let me down,it would not hold.We brought the second winch back and got the money.Ordered a Tusk from Rocky Mountain,it's a 1500lb with a 1900lb stall for $100.I guess what i'm trying to say is you get what you pay for.I have a Warn on my 500 and love it.
