Default Disconnnect Swaybar

Well, I was bored so I went outside and disconnected my swaybar, the do-it-yourself way. I don't have the best tools here, so I tore up that connecting rod a bit. But anyways, I tried it out on the ice and it feels great. Only thing is that when I slide sideways, it feels like it wants to go over a little more than usual. I havent tested it at higher speeds yet, the road is too icy/snowy (anything over about 25 and you just fishtail). The articulation is awesome, too. I tried putting one front wheel on a stump; I can put one front wheel about 20" up before a back tire lifts (about- its too snowy to measure accurately.)

Anyways, my question is, are there any awkward tendencies that this may cause on my atv? I know it will be less stable at higher speeds, but I was planning on putting it back on this summer. Anything I should worry about?

Also, I was looking at the green sportsman's, and I like those black wheels. If I get a good picture, I will photoshop it and see how black wheels/hubs looks on my yellow and black sportsman. How hard is painting the wheels; I dont have a tire machine to take them off.

Lotta questions, sorry.
TIA Tyler711

I think you already got your answer ... it less stable under speed or hard turns ... i would be scared to get it going sideways on ice. If it "hooked up" i'm sure it would flip right over.

Well the lake has about 3 inches of snow on it, and I've been sliding around on it all weekend. With it connected, it only scared me when I hit deep drifts and it started to tip. But now, the inside wheels dont leave the ground, but the whole quad is tilted sideways. I'll see what happens.

And thanks for the PM, I think I'll leave it how it is for now, as long as I know low is hi and hi is low I'll be ok.

unless a rider expects to do some severe rock climbing I wouldn't recommend disconnecting the swaybar but you could always get the quick disconnect kit so when you need to disconnect them you can.
