I took my shift lever off. Heated it up with a torch to bend it out a bit, now it clears my tank bags just fine.!!!

SPEAKING OF SHIFT LEVERS

Didnt mean to yell, but had to grab your attention! Mine rattles under certain conditions. Anyone else? It is very annoying!!! Anyone have a idea on how to fix? I thought about a small spring to keep a little tension on it, but I removed the brake safety thingy(lol) and I can shift w/o pressing the brake down, so any tension probably wouldnt be a good thing. Any advice?

I was thinking of that, but since I can buy a new one to play with for only about $17 + shipping, I figured I would create a new one. My design is go cut the current shift lever just in from the upward bend...in towards the motor where it is straight. I will then weld on a piece of steel to connect back together, I'll have to eye it to see how far I need to go out. I will then weld a piece of rod across the bend for strength. I plan on also tilting the top back in, but I'll decide when I get the spare rod in.

It would be nice to find a good bag/box that would fit on the front rack and not interfere with the headlight.

Hey silverbullet2005. Check out the bags at TSC. (Tractor Supply) Thats where we got ours. See my pics. LOL, funny thing is our bag looks just like the one elkbow found on ebay. Its water proof, has dividers, pockets and has a hard insert so the bag holds its shape. We paid either $29 or $39 for it. WU carries all kinds of junk in it.
I hope this helps you

Is there a good one that you recommend that's low enough to still use the high beam on the handlebars and the 3 light mod.

I think it would be hard to tell on which ones that the headlight would shine over. Are you looking for a soft bag or hard storgage compartment?
