In Memory....

To All,
Iwasn't going to post this at all and I know it's not really atv related. But, after I read Silverbullet's post about why he likes his dealer and wouldn't go anywhere else, then I thought about it for awhile and decided to post this. As some of you know I work as a tech for a dealership and I have made many friends over the years of working on quads and equipment. On monday, Feb. 28, I lost not only a good customer, but a valued and true friend. No, he didn't go elsewhere looking for service, that would not have been a loss as great as this. Kevin was killed in an auto accident during work, the initial cause of which was not known. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. Many people don't believe that dealers don't see past their wallet. But, to most of us you are not only a customer or someone we see once in a while when there's a problem, you are friends and family. I have gotten to be friends with many on here, not that we really "know" each other, but are friends none the less.
I wrote this not to make an issue out of it or start replies to peoples beliefs on the subject, but my friend may still be here if he had worn his belt. Please, don't become another lost friend to anyone. Drive safe and ride safe so that we may meet one day. sincerely, Jeff.

you'll be greatly missed, your ride was too short

I feel your pain Jeff. Being a service manager for Sears for 10 years now I have had many close great customers who have passed away, and a couple of them younger aged. You never get used to the fact that they were here yesterday and now they're gone. I hope his family is doing well,

I own a Lawn & landscape business, and in the last 5 years, I have lost over 15 customers do to death. And I just found out last wensday, that another one only had 3 days left. These people are like family to me. And it sucks to lose them, not because of the money......but because of the friend ship So Jeff I know how you feel.

sorry to hear about that Jeff.
I have a dealership (Greenia's in Almont) I stop into a lot while on my trek up north to my hunting and riding areas.
I would stop to see the new Polaris models and sometimes with questions and just to talk to the service manager, he was a nice and friendly guy. Well, last March I stopped in after an absence of about a month to find out that he was no longer with the family owned dealer, that he passed away of a heart attack shoveling snow, I felt like I lost a good friend and couldn't believe he was gone.

sorry about your loss Jeff, It's nice to know that the dealers have people who like you who realize that we as customers are not just flipping the bill. just as you said Jeff, I have grown to look at all of you guys on this site as friends/family also. I wish people would just put a seatbelt on when they get into the car/truck cause just as the commercials say "seatbelts save lifes"
