I was wondering if someone could tell me how hard it is to change a belt on a 500 Magnum.

If it`s anything like a SC 500 , piece of cake. It may take 1hr tops. Unbolt the front fender from the floor board this makes it easier to get the cover out. I don`t know if this is correct procedure but I removed the center bolt for the rear pulley (don`t know correct term). Slipped off old belt, slipped on new, slid pulley back on shaft and torqued bolt. When re-installing cover use grease to hold the seal in, this will also help seal it. HTH

You shouldn't have to remove any bolts from either pulley. If you put the gearshift in Neutral, and (carefully) work the rear pulley open against the helix spring, you should be able to pry it open enough to be able to get the belt off over the front pulley. Put the new belt on the same way. Never did this with an EBS equipped machine, but I assume it is the same way. To avoid lawsuits (see thread marked "Here we go...") be sure to do this with the engine OFF. Otherwise advice is right on.
