Since the pipe turns more rpms then usually the clutching has a higher engagement. You can tune the clutch to have a lower engagement and still pull hard on top end, you just wont get that "shot out of a cannon" feeling if you decide to do some drag racing. You have lots of clutching options with different weights and springs.

I didn't like the higher engagement when I first got my Trail Mod but after I rode it a while I came to love it. I can't imagine having a low clutch engagement anymore.

Would it hurt anything to use the pipe I have and still get the porting done? And does anyone have the RCR topend pipe? How does it perform and any pics of drag pipes would be great I just want to see how they fit.

The heavier cluch spring will make the motor rev higher before it engages the belt and the quad starts to move forward.
For better performance and quicker takeoffs.

The only thing it would hurt is performance. I don't have the RcR topend pipe but did have the HPD trail pipe which I heard was really close in performance and it works really well with porting. I have the CPI race pipe and have pics on my gallery page. The CPI looks and fits great.

Yes you will need to either go back and run the stock airbox with adaptor or get a different clamp on. The one for the stock carb is way smaller. I can't remember the part number for the K&N clamp on. CED do you remember?

RU 1760 is angled and that is the one that will fit on the new keihin carb right?
