Default I need some serious "HELP"

I have a 2001 Scrambler 500 4x4 , well i broke the tranny cases via a sloppy chain and its all messed up now. im curious as to the best thing to do. i could 1. replace both sides of the cases. 2. im hearing that you can put in a explorer tranny and it will bolt right up.

Is this true? what size do i need to find? do i have to male any mods to my current bike to make it work with a scrammy?

thanks for your help........................the very upset owner of a broken bike............

You need to get a trani for a 400 expolorer. It cost the same as the rplacement for the scrambler. I used a 2001 model year. It bolts right in. You have 2 choices on the shifter. Order the shifter for the explorer & do a little fab work on shifter lengths or bend the shifter rod in a little bit of a bow shape and add a second lever under the seat by your leg. The second way saves you about 150.00 dollars, but requires a little bit more mechanical skill.
