sp700efi exhaust
#1
I'm planning on upgrading the exhaust on my new sp700 efi, what do you guys think? should I get the Pro Circuit t-4 system (includes aluminum silencer w/spark arrestor, and stainless steel headpipe) for $475.00 from dennis kirk, or should I get the sp800 heaperpipe and heat shields with a pure polaris silencer??? the latter would likely be atleast $200.00 less, and I could possibly get the sp800
header pipe ceramic coated to keep it looking nice. Anyone know what ceramic coating costs?

Thanks for the reply. I will probably order the hearer pipe this week. What else do i need to complete this mod? I already started disassembling my quad to put a Heelclicker clutch in it. I think I found out what my problem with low end speed was. I smoked my belt in low gear pulling out a 660 yamaha this last weekend.

Thanks man, you have been a great help. Will the EFI adjust itself or will I have to mess with something else? I have the snorkel that I am going to add too.

No, based on my understanding of the EFI system Polaris is using in, the PCM cannot make changes to the fuel maps or make corrections based on changes in airflow. It will compensate for programmed changes in barometric pressure and air temperatures. I doubt the header will siginificantly change the flow charteristics, but you never know. You may want to look into an aftermarket chip or CDI of some sort that will change the fuel maps based on your contemplated mods. I got my 800 hearder back from Jet-Hot last week. They did a great job on it. IMO, they have the best coating on the market. They're probably the most expensive too, but I think you get what you pay for.

I'm not for sure it would adjust or not I think it should but have no dealings with the efi. I wounder if the 800efi cdi will work on the 700efi?

If you check part#s, you'll find that the efi control module for the '05 700/800's are the same part#, as are the fuel injectors and throttle body assembly. Just the programming is different. The major differences imo are the exhaust, airbox snorkel, and the cylinder head design. The 800 head has much larger ports, and the 800 engine has higher compression as well. Oh yeah, and the primary clutch is way different as we all know. Seems like maybe the extra $800-$1000.00 for the sp800 may not have been that bad of a deal, except they didn't offer it in a dale jr. edition well I could spend $700.00 on a nos system, hide it in the tool box, and then I'd have even more power than the 800
