Default My new TOY

I just returned from a 1125 mile round trip to Chattanooga with my new 05 Sportsman 500 HO. Great bunch of people and boy was it worth my while. Some goodies I got were Front Brushguard, 2500 lb Winch, Rear bumper, Tongue recvr hitch, Front rack extension, Rear cargo Box, 4yr.(really 3.5 yr.) extended Polaris warrenty. I also purchased a K & N air filter last week. The only problem I have is I have to wait until Sunday and Monday and then it's off to Ocala National Forest for the Shake down trip. Again thanks to all here at this forum. It was because of this forum I choose what I did.

Sweet!
I'm still adding goodies to the triplets.
I'd like to add the front rack extentions next and maybe a few more bumpers.
Enjoy the trip and stay safe!

Cool,

I just picked up my 800 Sportsman from the same store. They were awesome, I got the front brush guard, the rear bumper and a few other accessories. I can't wait to hit the streets of Germany with it, my Dad picked it up for me and it will be shipped to me at the end of the week. It is legal to ride ATV's on the road here in Germany and I can't wait.

Congratulations on the new machine! I just got one myself last Thursday!

So, what exactly do you guys recommend for a proper break-in?

Read the manual, it says everything you need to do for the break-in!

last year I got my first new ATV and love it! best purchase I have ever made!

I agree w/ above. Check the manual and follow it to a tee.

Don't go full throttle and Don't let it idle a long time (a few minutes warm up is ok).
Do vary the throttle.

I would let the dealer do the first service (20 hr) and have him do a once over on everything.
