Default WOW!!

i just got my freshly rebuilt tranny back for my 1994 400L utility 2x4 and went riding with my buddy to test it out...my first time riding it with a HI gear. he has a 1999 sportsman in great shape. well after a short ride in my pasture i wanted to top it out so he was going to ride beside me and see. i was guessing hight 40s. well we took off not gunning it just getting up to speed well at about 40 mph he gave me the go ahead look and i punched it focesing on the road looked beside me no one... looked behind me about 100 yard their he was and i was still gainning speed. so i slowed down and when he got their he just had this blank look on his face...he was in ah. he said he was topping out about 54 mph so we guessed i was going in the high 50s. Whats up with THAT!! the rest of the trip i just got exussed about how his SP was acting up and thats why it was going slow. so this weekend hes going to bring his 02 sp D.U.S.E to see how fast mine goes. i think hes a little worried. my 400 has no mods that im aware of just the tranny and this was the first time i got to ride it with the high gear. so are these known for going fast or am i just lucky and its a power house of torque. its no sport its all utility.

The 400 2-stroke is a great motor. Add the lighter weight of your old 2wd and any 500 4-stroke 4x4 will have fits with it. You should see low 60's on that thing if it's still got good compression.

I had a 91 350L 4x4 completely stock and after I put a new belt on it, I got 55 on the road according to it's speedo. I am assuming the speedo was accurate on it. I wouldn't doubt you are easily over 60.
