Do I need to pay the extra $59.00 for a brake for a Ramsey winch?

Do you have any more information that you can share?
If you have a 2500 or 3000 ATV winch and you know you need a brake, then yes.

 

I am going to buy a 2500# Ramsey atv winch. I don't know if I need the brake or not.

 

The winch itself has a pretty good dynamic brake on it. If your going to be hanging the quad from a tree or raising or lowering the quad from a cliff I don't think you'll need the brake. It all depends on what your usage is.

 

Thanks xcrider, I think I will skip the brake, just gonna use it to pull me out when I get stuck and probably some other people also.
