I need any info on the Power Maxx system. What kind of fuel are you running? How does this work perfomance wise ? Better than the race porting?

i ve got both a bigbore race port and a powermaxx set up and there is a differance in the mid range and a little on top. but does the power differance veres the cost make up the differance the jury is still out. but i have one of the first powermaxxs out . im going to try the new head and piston to see if this wakes it up even more. but a real good ported and clutched big bore runs right with it in the sand on the dirt it might be a differant stroy.

The powermaxx is one smooth setup, it's got power everywhere and is very rideable. It has alot more torque than the smaller bores on the race mod, I had a big bore on alky and the torque was about the same. I think the 39 carb and ignition are holding the powermaxx back as well. I think with the new ignition and the 47mm carb hpd has out will really help out! If I had the money I would definately go with the powermaxx. But as with me in the beginning I went piece by piece with the race mod, which since they only sell the powermaxx in a kit you can't do that! Homdaddy is right, the times I've ran in 300ft sand drags are pretty close, those I'm still getting the powermaxx tuned in and trying to get the right paddles under it! Just like with any setup tuning is key a good tuned race mod will outrun a poorly tuned powermaxx!

Hey Bob, will you look at my pics and tell me if my pipe looks the same as the one on your max?
I was told that the powermax pipe and the race pipe were two different animals, but ive never seen a pipe like mine on any other 400s. When I got this pipe Daryl told me that they had just started making them "in house" again.
Im just curious. thanks

Whitedog, me and Ced were talking about your pipe one time, it sticks out further than any we've seen. The powermaxx pipe looked almost identical to my racemod pipe.

Muddober, I've only had the powermaxx to the drags once and it went a 5.5. There's more to be had, just don't know how much. I should be back to the drags in a couple of weeks, I'll let you know how it goes. Me and Ced are planning on being at the Aledo trailer park races in June, don't know how far you are from Aledo but we'd like for a lot of polaris guys to show if possible!

whitedog,i do beleive 100% how great the pipe fit you,, what darrell can do if you call him on the race pipe is spot on,back when i bought it,they told it was a hand built unit especially for higher heads, and til now with a lot of testing and runs,
i've yet no found any flat spot on that motor yet, race flywheel,15.5 heads, amazing efficient pipe purpose built is right on the kit, peak at 7600 rpm with wiseco rod and piston.
