well I bet you he even losses gas while hes cruising down the road, I think we had a similar problem on are sportsman 500 because I think some kind of float or something was stuck open. if it comes out of the overflow tube from the carb. it usually means somethings stuck open

My 03 700 gets about 35 to 45 miles before I have to turn the reserve on. But I guess the bigger carb and other mods didn't help .

thats insane, i dont think mine is that bad, but it should be better, I dont have reserve, so i am kinda scared to go to far by my self till i find out how far it will go when the gauge says empty, maybe its my gauge too, i will give it an honest trail run next week, but it doesnt take long to burn a half a tank trying to ride wheelies and jump driveways....

my 400 04 sportsman got 90 miles before i put it on reserve and it went almost as fast as my new 600, just wasnt half as powerfull, i should have just put a clutch kit in it...

I get about 100km per tank HARD riding (flat out, hard accellerating, etc) on my Warrior, or 160+ km of easy trail riding. My tank is 9 litres or just a bit more than 2gal.

yea it may only get 15 to the gallon but their isn't a reason for it leaking out the tube from the carb.

swampman is this check valve your talking about located outside or inside the gas tank.

the float or valve should be inside the carb. all the gas tank does is hold the fuel until its pumped into the carb. and from their its regulated by the adjustment on the carb, but if it leaks out of the tube from the carb. then something is probably sticking inside of carb. causing it to flush out the extra gas through the tube

What gas mileage should ATVs get? A friend of Mine has the new Kaw Brute Force 750. Get said he gets 120 miles on a tank. He said that the gas guage on his goes down to the Empty and then you can still go 40 miles or so. Do the Polaris ones get real bad mileage? I am not sure what size tank is on his ATV either.
