Does anyone have a part # for the relay? I was at NAPA today, and they were having a hard time coming up with something without a #.

Pep Boys and Autozone have them in the lighting or radio section.

I have no idea what happened on the weekend guys but I blew all three headlights in about 2 mins. I spoke to a polaris tech and he asked if I had made a headlight mod. Mine was done with the diode. I'm not sure if where I tapped into the wiring if I got a bad connection and it shorted or what.I have sinced unhooked the mod and covered all wires and the lights are back to normal?

You can see them on ebay by doing a search of 12 volt automotive relay. They are used in switching fog lamps etc. Here is a post on ebay

I saw a new twist on the headlight modification on Montana Jack's

It gives you the choice of three different configurations; low beam, high beam or all three. Does anyone have a diagram and material list for this option?

Ya all you have to do is put in a switch in the wire/lead from the high beam light (yellow wire). When the switch is on, low light on low beam and all three on high, switch off it is a stock set up with low and high only.

I have read that you can burn up the expensive factory high beam switch, because it's not designed to power all three lights. Isn't there a way of having the low, high, all 3 configuration by using relays, to prevent overloading the switch? Elkbow makes a kit here on the forum but I haven't figured out if he uses relays or not.

Look at my pictures. I have the wiring diagram for using a relay right there. Just print it off.

Thanks for the diagram....I'm assuming you put a fuse in the 12 v wire. If I added a switch to the ground wire I could get Low beam, high beam and all three as oposed to just low beam and all three.

This kit sold on ebay works on the 800 EFi, It fits all Polaris sportsman's and takes 5 minutes to install, no cutting of factory wires. Item cost $5.99 And worked great on my atv. Mine has been on mine for 3 years with no problems
