How Reliable is the SP500????
#11
If reliability is your #1 priority, get the Honda. If comfort and a smooth as a Cadillac ride are more important get the Polaris. I like the SP335 I have, probably should have spent the extra $$ and got the 500 though. Big difference in power.

All my quads have been reliable, you always hear of the Honda reliability, but mine have been trouble free for many rough miles. You just don't get more reliable than that.I ride them hard and put them up wet, look at Honda forum you'll find problems there also. They are a bare bones machine and have fewer parts,if you want to ride bare bones Hondas the way to go.You want all the bells and whislles along with great ride POLARIS second to none.Just like in the real world some are happy with GEO METRO and others like me have to have the CADDY. Don't get me wrong I'm not putting Honda or anyone else down, just trying to make point, some people are very happy with thier choice of quad as I'm happy with my choice of POLARIS.To each his own.CM

It depends on what your definition of reliability is. Reliability for 2 years, or 10 years? If you plan on selling the quad after 2 years, buy a polaris. If you want a quad that'll last 10 years, buy the honda. It seems that 9 out of 10 of polaris owner's bikes here are '97 or newer. My 94 polaris 400 has had more repairs than my 78 atc 90 and my 85 big red combined. Everyone says that the new polaris bikes have much better reliability. And that may be true. But I wouldn't say they're reliable if they're only one year old and have had no repairs. We'll have wait and see on the long term reliability issue. Just my 2 cents.

3TV point well taken,I have seen many older Polaris that were trouble free but I'm like you I like the new stuff. As far as suspention try one of these It'll make Hondas suspention look good. It's so bad that I hated to have anyone see me in it!!!!!!CM

why do you need more "performance" in a utility???? If ya wanna go fast and jump nad do wheelies and all that stuff then get a sport quad. Utilities are not made for sheer "performance". They are made mainly for work and the newer ones are starting to lean more towards play. But all out "performance" needs to be focused on sport/high-performance quads, not utilities....

If there were a Sport Utility class, the Sportsman would not fit into that clasification. Its dry weight of 700lbs does nothing for the Sport part of this classifcation.
The Sportsman fits into the Premium Recreation/Utility classification.
