Default Pickup new trailer this week !

I am finally getting a trailer for the quads. I looked at a lot of open trailers and all of them were steel. I was looking for a 5 ft X 14 ft trailer so I could load the guads front to back. Yesterday I went to Elkhart, IN. and found an aluminum trailer that is 80 in. X 14 ft., which is wider than I was looking for. The dealer said it should weigh less then a 5 x 14 ft steel trailer. I will pick it up after work one day this week. I put up some pics of the trailer if you would like to see it.

Hey,,,thats a nice trailer,,,good purchase.

Most people end up buying too small.

thats a good size and the side rails and ramp are nice to have.

I paid 1550.00 plus tax. A 5 x 14 ft steel trailer was 1000.00 plus tax. If you look close at the pic you can see the price.

WOW! Nice trailer. I am jealous. How much does it weigh? I bet you hardly feel it behind you when its empty. Did you try to negotiate a price?

Yes I tried to negotiate but they were very firm on the price. Salesman didn't know weight but said he was sure it was under 1000 lbs. After looking at so many new steel trailers that had rust up side and down the other. I knew this is the one I wanted. I needed something light because I will be pulling it with a crew cab S-10.

What's the load rating on that axle, I see it has no brakes.

TreeDoc I believe the axle is rated at 3500 lbs. And no it does not have brakes. If it was heavy enough to need brakes I would look at something else.

Very nice. That's a good deal too. With the rising price of building materials nowadays.

That's true! I paid $1400 for my 76"x12' Diamond C Trailer this time last year but it has a folding tailgate/ramp and electric brakes (as seen in my Pics) and it was a higher quality unit than many of the others that were carrying a cheaper price tag. Right while I was in the process, steel prices started a dramatic rise. Had I waited 2 weeks the same unit would have cost about $200 more! I don't think aluminum was effected to the same degree but I'm not positive of that fact.
