Default Ranger questions

I just purchased a used Ranger, the industrial model. Does any one know how to disable the speed limitter? It is not a rev limitter, but actually cuts power when you hit 25mph and keeps the machine from going any faster. There must be someway to over ride it, but of course the dealership is mum. Thanks in advance. Happy hunting, Casey

ahh 'industrial model'. i had to read your post twice. if i remember correctly, the Ranger (non-indus model) should have a top speed of 40-42MPH.

i wonder if it uses a different key like the '05 models do? each key has a different top-speed limit. they go by color.

maybe try posting this topic on the "RUV and RTV Off-Road Vehicles" part of our forum. just a thought.

have you tried calling a dealer?

The Polaris UTV "Utility task vehicle" was the Osha approved model of th ranger. The top speed is roughly 25 mph and it is goverend in the tranny not via a cdi box liek the rhino.

yes Cincy Scrambler is right it is in the tranz and to change it to do 40+ MPH you will have to change 2 parts in the tranz. 1 is the input shaft witch is around $380.00 and 2 is one gear witch is around $160.00. Not to hard to do but you need a press to do it.
