predator oil
I always try to use the oil and filter called for by the manufacturer. It doesn't cost that much more, and you don't change them that often, so it's good insurance.
Here's my experience base: A friend of mine who services RV generators said that the Fram and other generic oil filters are not made the same as the OEM's filters. He said that almost every one of the RV generators that came in with problems had generic oil filters installed instead of the called for OEM filter.
My friends who substitute motor oil (like Pennzoil) for the Yamalube or PS-4 in their quads all seem to have clutch or tranny problems.
A friend using Pennzoil in his Raptor just had clutch slipping problems. I told him to use the prescribed oil. His problem has gone away.
